Bio

Ian Harrison is a PhD candidate here in the NCSU Public History program. His studies focus on Civil War memory and maritime history, particularly the ways in which different demographics of people throughout the nation remember and embody Civil War history and heritage in their lives. His dissertation project on the CSS Neuse, a Confederate ironclad vessel recovered from the Neuse River in North Carolina seeks to explore these themes through the lens of maritime history.
