Financial Aid & Scholarships

Undergraduate Awards

Every year CHASS awards a limited number of scholarships to first-year students on a non-need basis. There is no application form for these scholarships; application for admission to NC State in a CHASS curriculum by November 1st constitutes application for these CHASS college-wide scholarships.

CHASS also has a limited number of need-based scholarships which may be awarded to first-year or to continuing students. There is no application form for these scholarships; selection is made from among CHASS students with an un-met need (as determined by the NC State Office of Financial Aid). Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine financial need.

For more information on CHASS scholarships, contact Dara Leeder at 919.515.3638.

In addition, there are a limited number of departmental scholarship awards available for upperclassmen. Please contact the department of interest to inquire about available scholarships and award criteria.

Graduate Awards

Graduate assistantships/fellowships are available through many CHASS departments. Please contact the department of interest to inquire about available scholarships and award criteria. The Graduate School also maintains a list of funding resources.

Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) assists students and parents in applying for and securing financial assistance when family resources are insufficient to meet educational expenses. The OSFA offers individual as well as group financial aid counseling assistance. If you have a question about financial aid -- including scholarships, grants, loans and campus employment -- or need assistance with any part of the financial aid process, please contact the OSFA.
