Financial Aid and Scholarships
Undergraduate Awards
When funds are available, the college awards a limited number of scholarships to first-year students on a non-need basis. There is no application form for these scholarships; application for admission to NC State in a CHASS curriculum by November 1 constitutes application for these college-wide scholarships.
For continuing students, the college has a very limited number of merit-based awards. We announce the application process in mid-March. Applications are due in early April for the following academic year. Applicants must have an NCSU GPA of at least 3.5. Leadership, extracurricular involvement and volunteer activities are also considered.
For more information on CHASS scholarships, contact Dara Leeder at 919.515.3638.
Our departments award a limited number of scholarships for upperclassmen. Please contact the department of interest to inquire about scholarships and award criteria.
Graduate Awards
Many of our college's departments offer graduate assistantships and fellowships. Please contact the department of interest to inquire about available scholarships and award criteria. The Graduate School also maintains a list of funding resources.
Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) assists students and parents in applying for and securing financial assistance when family resources are insufficient to meet educational expenses. The OSFA offers individual as well as group financial aid counseling assistance. If you have a question about financial aid -- including scholarships, grants, loans and campus employment -- or need assistance with any part of the financial aid process, please contact the OSFA.
